How could I elevate your brand?

Entranced by Amaarae’s ethereal voice, I chose to redesign a song cover of SAD GIRLS LOVE MONEY REMIX. The main artist on the track is Amaarae, a Ghanian-American singer and songwriter known for her fusion of multiple genres such as pop, afro beats, and R&B.

The other artist featured on the track is Kali Uchis, a Colombian-American singer and songwriter, known for fusing latin, neo-soul, and R&B. I believe that the original song cover fell short of emphasizing the song's purpose: the confidence that today’s women exude.

As a Black woman, the artist Amaarae, aims to empower the communities she is apart of by being unapologetically herself within and outside of the music industry.

ABOUT

Song Cover Redesign.

For the album cover rebrand, I created nostalgic album cover design, mockup, and a printed vinyl cover. My piece is inspired by the photographs I took of a female client in a business suit. As an empowered Black woman, my client represents Amaarae in the redesigned album cover.

To maintain the Y2K aesthetic in the new cover, I created futuristic and sparkly secondary elements, reflective textures, and implemented a desaturated purple and a bright pink.
